Free Wedding Shower Games: Keep the Party Rolling

Free wedding shower games every party planner should know about

If you're planning a wedding shower, entertainment can be free with these free bridal shower games. These free bridal shower games won't just break the ice, they'll keep the party rolling and will keep guests entertained for hours.

I'm Patti the Perfect Party Planner and everyone knows I love a great party. Every great bridal shower I've ever been at has featured a number of great bridal shower games. These free bridal shower games are some of my favorites.

Famous Couple Charades

Famous couple charades is one of the most popular free wedding shower games to play. To prepare for the game, write down the names of famous couples, either from the current day and age or famous couples of the past. In this game, you separate the guests into teams.

Each team chooses a person from that team who is going to be acting out the charade. The person chosen then chooses a couple from the list of names you prepared and acts out one or both of the names and then the teams take turns guessing who the couple is. The team to guess correctly first wins that round.

Pin the Bouquet on the Bride

Pin the bouquet on the bride is truly one of the most fun free bridal shower games you can play. In this game, each player decorates their own bouquet.

When everyone has decorated their bouquets, they take turns trying to tape the bouquet to a picture of a bride while blindfolded. The person who pins their bouquet closest to the bride wins.

Bridal Shower Trivia

Bridal shower trivia isn't just one of the more entertaining free bridal shower games, it will also teach guests some things they didn't know about the bride.

To prepare for this game, you'll prepare trivia questions. Some sample trivia questions are below:

What year did the bride graduate high school?

Who was the bride's first kiss?

How many siblings does the bride have?

The guests then try to answer as many questions correctly as they can. The guest to answer the most questions correctly wins the game.

When you play these free bridal shower games you'll get a whole lot of laughs and entertainment for the entire party. The saying you get what you pay for doesn't apply to these free bridal shower games!

Bridal Shower Supplies on a Budget

How to stay within budget when purchasing bridal shower supplies.

The cost of bridal shower supplies can really add up if you're not careful and if you're planning a bridal shower on a tight budget that can be a problem.

I'm Patti the Perfect Party Planner and I have some advice as to how to save money on your bridal shower supplies without having to sacrifice the necessities.

Be Practical

My first piece of advice is to be practical. You don't need a chocolate fountain if you only have two-hundred dollars budgeted to bridal shower supplies. Sure, you can have some chocolate covered strawberries, but try making them yourself instead going the expensive route.

While the extras like fountains and live entertainment are great, they sure do take a chunk out of your budget.

Those Who Can, Do

If you can make it yourself, do it. If you can bake it yourself, do it. There's no reason to have a party catered or to pay for wedding decorations if you can do these things yourself -- especially if you're on a budget.

By making the party favors and/or decorations and cooking the menu yourself, you can save quite a bit of money on your bridal shower supplies.

Do-It-Yourself Invitations

Invitations can actually be pretty expensive and anyone can put together an attractive invitation with just a little care and patience. If you have the time, try to make the invitations yourself instead of hiring a professional to do them.

Discount Stores

For the bridal shower supplies that you absolutely must purchase, do so at a discount card and party store. The savings can be more than half off regular prices of your bridal shower supplies and you'll be able to make your dollar stretch a lot further than if you were to purchase them at a standard party supply shop.

Bridal Shower Party Supplies: What You Need and Where to Get It

Exactly what you need to throw a great bridal shower and where to get it.

So you're throwing a bridal shower party and you're not exactly sure what bridal shower party supplies you need? You've come to the right place!

Patti the Perfect Party Planner is here to let you know exactly what bridal shower party supplies you're going to need in order to throw a great party.

Invitations

The first thing on your list of bridal shower party supplies is going to be your invitations. You're throwing a party so you're obviously inviting people and to do that, you need invitations.

You can purchase your invitations from a professional printer, at a local party supply store or you can even make your invitations yourself. What you do is completely up to you and depends on your personal preferences and your budget.

Food

A party isn't a party without great food being served to the guests. You're going to want to plan your menu in advance and then make an ingredients list to add to your list of bridal shower party supplies.

If you're making the food yourself, you'll want to start preparing the day before the bridal shower so you won't be rushing around like a madwoman at the last minute.

Place Settings

No one can eat your food without place settings so those are next on our bridal shower party supplies list. Unless the bridal shower is a formal event, disposable place settings are probably more cost-effective and will make for easy clean-up at the end of the party.

If you are going to go with disposable place settings, try going to a discount card and party outlet rather than an expensive party supply store.

Bridal Shower Games

Bridal shower games should also be included on your list of bridal shower party supplies. Prepared games like bridal bingo, pin the veil on the bride and other bridal shower games can all be purchased at party supply stores or on the Internet.

Party Favors

Of course, no bridal shower party supplies list is complete without the party favors. You need something to give to your guests at the end of the party so party favors are an absolute must.

Clean-Up Supplies

No one wants to think about it, but clean-up supplies are an absolute must when shopping for your bridal shower party supplies. Garbage bags and paper towels may not be fun or romantic, but you'll be lost without them when it's time to clean up at the end of the day!

Wedding Shower Invitations - What Not To Do.

How to avoid embarrassing mistakes on your wedding shower invitations.

Without wedding shower invitations, there is no wedding shower. Since wedding shower invitations are such an integral party of the party, you want to make sure you get it right.

Patti the Perfect Party Planner is here to give you five ways to avoid making embarrassing mistakes on your wedding shower invitations.

1. Check, Double Check, Triple Check the Date

How is the poor bride going to feel if you throw her a wedding shower and no one shows up? That's exactly what's going to happen if you put the wrong date on the wedding shower invitations.

When preparing the wedding shower invitations, make sure that the date is correct. It's not too hard to type the 9th instead of the 19th. Mistakes happen to the best of us so checking the date over again isn't a bad idea.

2. Make Sure You Mention to RSVP

When creating the wedding shower invitations make sure you mention where guests are supposed to RSVP. It's not going to be a pretty picture if you think that only 10 guests are going to show up but then 30 or 40 end up arriving.

3. Special Attire or Not?

Everyone always wants to know what to wear to a party and your wedding shower invitations can make this question a little bit easier on them. If you want white-tie attire, make sure you state so on the invitations.

If costumes are required, you'd better let people know or someone's going to stick out like a sore thumb.

4. Unisex or Girls Only?

If the party is going to allow boys, you might want to state that on the wedding shower invitations so people know they can bring a guest. On the other hand, if men aren't allowed you might want to make note of that too.

Either way, it's best to let guests know what's expected so someone doesn't show up with an un-allowed partner or someone doesn't show up with one who is expected.

5. Right Place, Right Time

This one is as important as putting the right date. Make sure you put the right place and time on the wedding shower invitations.

Naming the restaurant just isn't enough nowadays. Make sure you have the right address. The party might be at Jake's Bistro but if you don't put down the proper address half the guests may end up at the Jake's uptown and the other half at the Jake's downtown.

Creative Wedding Shower Ideas

Unique wedding shower ideas to make the wedding shower memorable.

So you're planning a wedding shower and you want it to be memorable, but you really need help coming up with some great wedding shower ideas? Worry not! Patti the perfect party planner is here to help you with your ordeal and with some of the best wedding shower ideas ever.

Try On a Theme

Themed parties are always a blast and they make one of the best wedding shower ideas. Costumes give people the opportunity to be creative and great costumes always break the ice. After all, it's a lot easier to talk to Wonder Woman or Super Girl than it is to talk to your ex-boyfriend's mother-in-law.

If you're going to go for a themed party, make sure that you note that costumes are required (or optional) in the bridal shower invitation and have your friends help you come up with some wedding shower ideas as to what the theme will be. Hippie themes are always popular as are romantic themes.

Serve Great Food

Of course one of the essential wedding shower ideas is what food you're going to be serving. If you don't serve good food, you might as well not throw a party at all.

Everyone looks forward to a good menu when it comes to parties, and wedding showers are no different. Try a wide variety of dishes including sweets, sours and salties.

Play Great Games

When it comes to wedding shower ideas, games are not far to follow. There are literally dozens of wedding shower games to choose from including pin the veil on the bride, bridal bingo, collage games and memory games. The choices are endless.

Don't Forget the Entertainment

You're going to want more entertainment than just playing games and opening presents when you're coming up with your great wedding shower ideas. Hire some live entertainment as well.

It's becoming increasingly common to hire stand-up comedians for parties and wedding showers are no different. If comedians aren't your thing, try a band or a DJ. Who says you need boys at the party in order to dance!

Make It a Unisex Party

Gone are the days when only girls were allowed to the wedding shower. One of the more recent wedding shower ideas is to allow men to attend the shower as well. Just let everyone know that dates are allowed and make sure that you invite the groom!

Just a little creativity and a bit of thought will go a long way when planning a wedding shower. When it comes to wedding shower ideas, the possibilities are literally endless.
